"The Country Music Association is committed to promoting Country Music around the globe and one way we do that is to encourage the development of Country Music artists from other nations," said CMA Chief Operating Officer Tammy Genovese.  "We are excited to shine a spotlight on international Country artists at events around CMA Music Festival."

CMA will honor Australian Country artist Adam Harvey as the recipient of the 2007 Global Country Artist Award.

"It is a great honor to win this award and to be recognized for doing something that I just enjoy," said Harvey. "I am thrilled and looking forward to being back in Nashville to receive the award in June."

The award recognizes outstanding achievement by an artist who has both furthered Country Music's popularity and brought attention to the format in their foreign-based territory.

"Adam Harvey's international outreach in recent years makes him a worthy recipient of this award," said Jeff Walker, President of AristoMedia and Chairman of the CMA Global Markets Committee. "In addition to his huge success in his native Australia, Adam has been successful in recent tours in Canada and Ireland. This is a well-deserved honor."

Harvey will accept his trophy June 9, during 2007 CMA Music Festival when he performs on the Greased Lightning® Daytime Stages at Riverfront Park.
