ADAM HARVEY WINS ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Immensely talented SONY BMG artist Adam Harvey walked away with the most prestigious award of the night – the CMAA Album of the Year - for his album I’m Doin’ Alright at the CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia held on Saturday January 26th at Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Convention Centre.

This award brings Adam’s Golden Guitar tally to seven awards and cements him as one of Australia’s most loved and awarded country artists.

Adam also performed a show-stopping live rendition of his new single (also the album’s title track) I’m Doin’ Alright in front of a sold out audience as well as presenting the Maton New Talent Award with Dianna Corcoran at Saturday nights awards. Those who missed the big night can check out Adam’s winning performance when the CMAA Awards are broadcast via Network Ten (all metro capital cities) on Sunday, 3 February, 2008, at 12.00pm.

Produced by Rod McCormack, I’m Doin’ Alright is Adam’s fifth album and has received critical acclaim since its release in September last year when it debuted at Number 1 in the ARIA country charts. Adam’s new single I’m Doin’ Alright was released to radio last week and the track debuted at #9 Most Added to commercial radio.

However, Adam has little time to bask in the glow of his album’s success as he is now embarking on three major tours and is set to become a TV star!

Following Tamworth, Adam is headlining a joint tour with Catherine Britt, and special guests the Noll Brothers in February, and then heads to Brisbane to perform with country music legends Brooks & Dunn on their first Australian tour. Never one to let the grass grow under his feet, Adam has more tour dates lined up in March with the one and only John Fogerty.

Adam has also been officially announced to appear as a mentor vocalist on Channel 7’s It Takes Two. Adam will star alongside some of Australia’s most popular singers including Ricki-Lee Coulter, Ian Moss, Kate Ceberano, Wendy Matthews and David Campbell, just to name a few.

The first episode is due to air on Tuesday February 12th and no doubt the 1.6 million people who enjoy the show each week will fall in love with Adam’s amazing voice, wry humour and easy going personality.

I’m Doin’ Alright is available now through SONY BMG Music Entertainment
