| Cresting the top of the Billboard Country Chart and claiming the #2 spot this week, the newly-minted platinum-selling Eli Young Band were confirmed as special guests for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Australian Tour this coming March, promoters’ Chugg Entertainment and Rob Potts Entertainment Edge announced today. “These guys are super hot right now,” said Potts, adding the band had been confirmed a few months ago for CMC Rocks The Hunter. “To be able to bring them to Australia for the first time and now put them in 10,000-plus arenas with Tim & Faith for six more shows, it’s fantastic, fantastic for Australian country music fans.” Blasting past one million downloads and more than 6,000,000 YouTube views, the runaway hit Crazy Girl – the first single from their fourth album Life At Best – has also landed the four-piece Texan outfit their first American Country Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year and, a spot on Letterman to perform the hit. Since coming together during college eleven years ago, Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones and Chris Thompson have gone from strength to strength – rising from Texas bars to playing arenas and shooting up the mainstream country charts. The quartet’s sound is a mix of edgy country with hints of heartland rock bands such as Tom Petty and classic Eagles.
